INSCRIPTION

Sacred to the Memory of
EMMA
the daughter of Ann Broad
of this parish
who departed this life
July 23rd 1831
Aged 3 years

In early day, the infant budding rose
By diving hand, is crop'd before it blows
Snatch'd from the parent stem, where once it grew,
Embalmed in odour and the sweetest dew.

Sweet babe just saw the dawning light,
Clap't her glad wings and took her flight
To join the song that sun above
Redeeming grace and dying love
